"Why are you drinking?" asked the little prince. "To forget," replied the drunk. "To forget what?" inquired the little prince, who was already beginning to pity him. "To forget that I am ashamed," confessed the drunkard, hanging his head. "Ashamed of what?" insisted the little prince, who wanted to help him. "Ashamed of drinking!"
